The course is designed to teach practical use of multimedia technologies in a business environment. Covered are historical context of hypertext systems, current development & deployment. Human computer interface is examined. Included is a discussion of web design for accessibility. Multimedia is emphasized including various formats, peripherals and devices. Multimedia requirements, development, support, maintenance and available tools are stressed (including multimedia database technology). Two lecture and two laboratory hours per week.

This course is designed to teach the fundamentals of web page construction. Included in the course are methods to create static and dynamic World Wide Web pages with HTML and enhancements, develop simple applications which read files/data bases, and methods to develop, deploy, and maintain web sites. Means of measuring activity at the site including analysis of access logs and related information will also be discussed. Tools which automate some processes will be discussed. Two lecture and two laboratory hours per week.

This course is designed to teach the use of tools available to access information on the Internet. Included in the course are methods to access the World Wide Web, search for information, use electronic mail, access news groups and transfer files (using File Transfer Protocol).
