8th Degree

Grand Master Mickey Wittekiend

My name is Mickey Wittekiend and I was born in Peoria, IL on August 6, 1952.  I am a 8th degree black belt in Ryukyu Kempo, Kyusho-Jitsu, and Tuite Jitsu under world famous George Dillman.

I began my martial arts career at the age of ten in 1962.  In 1974, I began studying Tae Kwon Do under Han Soo Lee.  During the next 3 1/2 years I studied and competed under his guidance.  I fought on the Midwest Open Tournament circuit, compiling a 52 & 2 record and winning 5 state championships.  In 1977 I received my 1st degree black belt from Master. Lee.  At that time he had two schools open in the area and turned one of them over to me to run.  After I received my 3rd degree, Mr. Lee left the area and ask me to run both his schools,   I ran his schools until I returned to college.  In 1983 I graduated from the University of Illinois with a BA in Management.

I continued to train and teach a few students from my home.  In 1991, my wife, Teri, and I decided to open a Karate school in Sunnyland, IL.  I taught Tae Kwon Do until 1993 when I met George Dillman and was introduced to his pressure point theory.  It was at this time that a whole new world opened up to me.

I started studying the pressure points and attending seminars diligently.  I learned to use the pressure points to control, destroy, or heal a person.  It took me 1 1/2 years to prove myself to Mr. Dillman, just to receive a charter membership in his organization and another 1 1/2 years on top of that to be ranked in his system.  Finally I received my 5th Dan in Mr. Dillman's system in January of 1995.  I continued to study and learn as much as I could and after I obtained my 6th Dan, I began sharpening my knowledge and techniques by doing seminars throughout the state of  Illinois at various schools.  I was one of the first pressure point specialist and leading advocates to travel the State of Illinois and share this knowledge with my fellow martial artists.  I received my 7th Dan on January 1, 2000 at which time I started teaching police departments and advanced police units.  I also continued to train under Mr. Dillman gaining advanced knowledge and techniques.  I sharpened my skills to an even higher level until July 29, 2004 when Master Dillman promoted me to (Hachidan) 8th degree black belt.

Mr. Dillman taught me the importance of developing my chi.  Through him I have learned to direct my chi to better utilize the pressure points.  I feel that this has made me a better martial artist in that I no longer have to use brute force to immobilize my opponent.  I can also use this increased chi to help heal, which is very important to me.  I have been delving more and more into the healing aspect of this art.

In 1999, I was inducted into three Martial Art Halls of Fame: the International Martial Art Hall of Fame in Orlando, Florida as Master Instructor of the year; the World Karate Union Martial Art Hall of Fame  in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania as Master of the Year in Kyusho Jitsu; the Universal Martial Art Hall of Fame in Houston, Texas as the Master of the Year in Tae Kwon Do.  In 2001 I was inducted into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame in Tulsa, Oklahoma.   In March of 2007 I was honored by being selected into the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame located in Canton, Ohio.  I am also a member of the Who’s Who in American Martial Arts.  Click here to view pictures of my USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame belt

Our school does community services by entertaining at nursing homes, raising funds for various charities, and giving seminars for different organizations in the community.

I currently reside in Sunnyland, Illinois with my wife Teri and two of our six children.  I am the proud grandfather of 8 beautiful grandchildren - 7 girls and a boy.  I have already begun to teach the three older girls karate.  I hope the tradition I have started with my family will continue through the generations of not only my own family, but also those families whom I have taught and hope to teach.

I have been on tapes and in books published and circulated world-wide by Mr. Dillman and have also been in magazines and on TV.
