MARY SIMON (Vera/Director) Mary has been involved with the various Conklin theatres since 1969. She assumed ownership and directing responsibilities in 1995. Over the many seasons Mary mentions Smoke on the Mountain (up next!), Cemetery Club, I Do, I Do, Guys & Dolls, Rumors, The Foreigner, Perfect Wedding, Funny Money and Nunsense as personal favorites. She most recently appeared as Rosemary in It Runs in the Family, as the nurse in The Sunshine Boys and as frazzled mom Helene in Alone Together. She also directed the premiere of G.I. Jukebox. Last year, she appeared in Two Into One, Will You Still Love Me in the Morning?, Tom, Dick & Harry, What the Rabbi Saw and Here Lies Jeremy Troy. She is proud and happy to keep our founder's dream alive! "This day, this moment, that's it!"
TOM WEBER (Burl) Tom has been our resident Scenic Designer for many years, building our sets, running lights and sound and appearing on stage as well! He was last seen as back to back patients--as Bill in It Runs in the Family and as the patient in the Doctor Sketch in The Sunshine Boys. Last year he was seen filling in as Syd the Plumber in Will You Still Love Me in the Morning? and as immigrant Andreas in Tom, Dick & Harry. He and his cat Buffy are avid History Channel fans.
JIM IRVIN (Rev. Oglethorpe) It's great to welcome Jim back to reprise one of his signature roles here at the Barn. He's performed the role of Rev. Oglethorpe since the very first production of Smoke on the Mountain back in 1995. He has performed in many shows at the Barn over the years including Rumors, Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?, Guys and Dolls, Love, Sex and the IRS, Funny Money and many others. Jim is happy to share the stage with his lovely wife Kathleen who he met while working here!
KATHLEEN IRVIN (Denise) Kathleen returns to our stage to recreate the role she created back in 1995. Most recently, Kathleen was seen in both of our productions of The Taffetas. She is a drama teacher at Bloomington Junior High School in Bloomington and she and husband Jim have a wonderful son named Joshua. Other past production Kathleen has appeared in include Moon Over Buffalo, Wife Begins at Forty, Guys and Dolls, Oklahoma!, Love, Sex and the IRS, and Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?
CHAD KIRVAN (Stanley) We're happy to have Chad back for one more production of Smoke on the Mountain. Last season, he reprised his greatest dancing role ever--Sister Mary Leo in Nunsense A-Men!. His previous appearances at the Barn include roles in Chaps!, Forever Plaid, See How They Run, Oklahoma!, Guys and Dolls, Black Patent Leather Shoes, Love, Sex and The IRS and many others. Chad and his lovely wife Sherise live in Bloomington with daughter Lily!
CHRISTIAN MEREDITH (Dennis) It's a treat to have Christian back for this production! He has appeared in many shows at the Barn in the past including several productions of Smoke on the Mountain, Oklahoma!, Come Blow Your Horn, and Sugar Babies, among others. Christian is the manager of the café at Barnes & Noble in Peoria
ARPIL WYANT (June) It's great to have April back onstage with us! In addition to acting, she is also our Technical Director. She has appeared onstage in What the Rabbi Saw, Two Into One and, most recently, as the wild child Leslie in It Runs in the Family. She is a graduate of the Theatre Department at Illinois Wesleyan University. April and her husband Zack are proud to say they recently purchased their first house!
