  We specialize in Morton Pottery

Burdell and Doris Hall have collected Morton Pottery since their marriage, August 20, 1948. Burdell had worked at the Cliftwood Art Pottery before serving in World War II, so he had a few prized items at the time they were married. During the past fifty years their collection has grown to include examples from all of the potteries that operated in Morton. The Halls published "Morton's Potteries: 99 Years" in 1980 and "Morton Potteries: 99 Years Volume 2" in 1995. They have contributed numerous articles to The American Clay Exchange, and serve as advisors for three popular price guides - Schroeder's Antiques Price Guide, Warman's Americana & Collectibles, and Official Identification and Price Guide to Pottery and Porcelain.

Burdell was a high school social studies teacher in Morton, Illinois, and Doris was a bookkeeper/cashier for many years. Today they are antiques and collectibles dealers at the Pleasant Hill Antique Mall and Tea Room in East Peoria, Illinois, and the Illinois Antique Center in downtown Peoria, Illinois. Doris and Burdell also conduct seminars throughout the midwest on several American potteries, including Morton's potteries. Their most recent seminars have been held in Madison, Wisconsin, and Minneapolis, Minnesota.
