I hope that some of the pictures may be of interest to you. All of the images on this page were photographed by me. You may know that the Chicago and North Western Railway was taken over by the Union Pacific in April 1995, and it no longer exists except in history. This web page is my small attempt at preserving some memories of the C&NW.

A triple headed steam train! In the lead are two Chinese Class QJ's followed by the Milwaukee #261. Video taken on September 16, 2006, about a mile west of Sheffield, IL on the Iowa Interstate RR. If you are interested in the Chicago and North Western Railway, I would suggest that you consider joining the C&NW Historical Society or at least check out their web site. They publish a quarterly magazine called "Northwestern Lines" which is most excellent. There are many interesting articles on the history of the railroad.
