The Board of Regents of the Robert
D. Preus Evangelical Lutheran High School is pleased to a scholarship program
in the memory of Mr. Bob Pardieck. Mr. Pardieck was a former Lutheran school
teacher and served as Epiphany Lutheran’s Director of Christian Education in
the 1980s and 1990s. In his memory and in recognition of his devotion to
Lutheran education each LCMS congregation in the Peoria/Tazewell is being
asked to select one qualified recipient to receive this scholarship.The
Board of Deacons/Elders may select the recipient in the manner they elect and
in consultation with the Pastor(s). This scholarship may be used to
acknowledge the outstanding academic achievements of the recipient or to help
someone who is disadvantaged. The basis upon which you select the recipient is
each congregation. The recipient may be an incoming freshman, sophomore, or
junior. The recipient of this scholarship must;
1. be a confirmed member in good standing of the nominating congregation,
who faithfully attends worship in an LCMS congregation on a regular basis;
2. be a new student to P.L.H.S.;
3. pass P.L.H.S.’s 2005-2006 entrance exam to insure proficiency in basic
math and grammar skills;
4. be among the first twelve students to be awarded this scholarship;
5. have a parent who is willing to sign the covenant agreement in support
of the goals, purposes, and activities of P.L.H.S.; and
6. matriculate at the end of each year to qualify to receive the awarded
funds for the subsequent year.
The recipient’s family will be presented with two pay out options. They may
apply all the funds awarded to the first two years of tuition, thus attending
tuition free for the first two years, or spread the award over all four years
to reduce out of pocket expenses by nearly half. For more information, please
talk with your congregational leadership.
