A little about myself.

I started out in Jr. High school in woodshop class back in 1972. That is when I decided I would do something that involved working with my hands and wood. I had two years of shop classes in Jr. High, four years of industrial arts in High school, and two years at Grundy Area Vocation Center, learning how to build houses in a class called Building Trades.

 When I graduated from all of that, I worked at a large cabinet shop in Will County for seventeen years. I was their service manager and did all the touch-ups and adjustments on the cabinets after the carpenters installed them. My job was also to take all the complaints, and make the customer happy.

 I remodeled kitchens & installed cabinets for two years in the evening for extra money while I worked during the day at the cabinet shop. I also attended classes to learn more about how to do Touch-Ups.

 At the cabinet shop I worked mostly on new homes, but several of the homes were lived in. I did approximately 16 service calls (homes) during the day for the cabinet shop all over North Central Illinois.

After I touched up cabinets for the customer, I always had several customers tell me that the work I did was so good, that they wanted to know if I could look at something for them. That is when I decided that there was a market for what I do & started my business.  I started my business in Channahon, Illinois, on January 1^st 1993, & within 6 months I had to quit working at the cabinet shop. I have been doing this ever since.

Now grant it, most repairs involve complete refinishing, which I do very well, and very few jobs can be done in the customers’ home, like minor touch-ups. But if it involves striping & refinishing, I will bring the work to my shop, which is at my home in Marseilles. Estimates are free, but I do charge for pick-ups & deliveries.
