Corinne Wood to Headline Woodford GOP
Lincoln-Reagan Day Dinner February 8

Lieutenant Governor Corinne Wood will be the keynote speaker at the annual Lincoln-Reagan Day dinner of the Woodford County Republican Central Committee on Thursday, February 8 at Eureka College. Lt. Gov. Wood will speak following the dinner. County, State, and regional office holders and candidates will also attend.

Lieutenant Governor Wood, the second highest-ranking state official, began a career in public service 20 years ago. Her experience includes service as a state representative, attorney, local leader, community activist, wife and mother and she has earned a reputation as a strong advocate for women, children and seniors. She recently earned distinction as one of "100 Women Making a Difference" in Illinois by Today’s Chicago Woman magazine.

A breast cancer survivor, Wood is committed to women’s health care as a top priority. She also leads the state’s efforts to preserve one of its most valuable natural resources, the Illinois River. As Chair of the Illinois River Coordinating Council, Wood directs the state’s strategy in protecting and restoring the Illinois River Watershed and its tributaries.

The dinner will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the Cerf Center of Eureka College. A limited number of tickets are now on sale for $20.00 per person and may be obtained from Woodford County Republican precinct committeemen and office holders. The Lincoln-Reagan Day dinner serves as a primary source of operating funds for the Central Committee and for the Eureka College Young Republicans.

Woodford County Republicans chose to honor President Ronald Reagan’s contributions to the Nation and to Woodford County by adding his name to the annual dinner event. President Reagan attended Eureka College and was well known throughout the community in his early days. They are also encouraging other county Republican organizations to do the same.
