Election Judges Sought for Woodford County Precincts
EUREKA -- Jim Fyke, precinct committeeman for Olio Precinct 2 and vice chairman
of the Woodford County Republican Party, is seeking three persons interested in
serving as Election Judges and Alternates for the Primary and General elections.
The 35 precinct committeemen of each political party recruit and recommend
persons for the positions of Election Judge and Alternate Election Judge within
their precincts. Republican recommendations are forwarded by the GOP chairman,
Bill Christ, of Metamora, to County Clerk Debbie Harms, who is the election
authority for the County.
Upon approval of the County Board and the Circuit Court, Election Judges will
serve in teams of five at each precinct polling place. Three judges of one party
and two of the other serve in alternating precincts.
Judges are usually required to be on duty from about an hour before polls open
at 7:00 AM until about an hour after they close at 7:00 PM. Circumstances may
vary in larger precincts. A training course is available.
There are several other vacancies throughout the County, in addition to the Olio
vacancies.
Persons interested in serving as Election Judges or Alternate Judges may call
their local precinct committeeman or contact Fyke at 467-4525 or 467-2613 or
Christ at 367-4330 or 367-2395.
