Outlook 2013


Setting up E-Mail on Outlook

Step 1:
Open Outlook



Step 2:
The first time you run Outlook, you’ll see a welcome screen--Click Next to get started.



Step 3:
If you had previously configured Outlook, click the File tab at the top and in the Info section select Add Account




Step 4:
In the Add an Email Account wizard displayed, you’ll be asked Do you want to set up Outlook to connect to an email account? Select Yes, then click Next at the bottom of the dialogue box.



Step 5:
In the resulting Auto Account Setup panel, enter the following as instructed:
  • Your Name: Enter the name you’d like to appear on your emails.
  • Email Address: Your full MTCO email address.
  • Password: Your MTCO email account password.
  • Retype Password: Your MTCO email account password again.
At the bottom of the dialogue box be sure to select the Manual setup or additional server types radio button





Step 6:
In the resulting "Chose Your Account Type" dialgoue box select POP or IMAP and then click Next>.



Step 7:
Enter the following details:

  • Your Name: Enter the sender’s name you’d like to appear on your emails.
  • Email Address: Your full MTCO email address.
  • Account Type: Use the dropdown menu to select POP3.
  • Incoming mail server: mail.mtco.com
  • Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.mtco.com
  • User Name: Your MTCO email account username.
  • Password: Your MTCO email account password.
Do NOT checkmark "Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)

Do NOT click Next. Instead, click the More Settings button at the bottom right







Step 8:
At the top, click the "Outgoing Server" tab

Checkmark the setting "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication". Below this, leave the setting on "Use same settings as my incoming mail server".

At the top, click the "Advanced" tab




Step 8:
For incoming mail,checkmark the setting "This server requires an encrypted conneciton (SSL)" For outgoing mail, set "Use the following encrypted connection" to SSL.

Change the outgoing port number from 25 to 465

The incoming port number should automatically change from 110 to 995. If it does not, change manually

Click OK, then Next, then Finish to save

You should now be able to send/receieve your MTCO E-Mail
